OCAS – Onderzoekscentrum voor Aanwending van Staal – is an advanced, market-oriented research centre providing innovative solutions and services to metal processing companies worldwide. The customer-oriented approach leads to advanced research for value creation and cost reduction through innovative solutions. OCAS is equipped with state-of-the-art R&D tools in its laboratories in Zelzate and Zwijnaarde (Belgium) and has a highly qualified team of 130 cross-disciplinary researchers and engineers with an international orientation. The mission of OCAS – a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and the Flemish Region – is very clear: providing steel and metal-based products, services and solutions, in order to satisfy and anticipate our customer's needs, to realise breakthrough developments and to set up new industrial spinoff activities.
